Bariatric & Weight Loss Surgery in Egypt
Sleeve gastrectomy, bypass and gastric balloon coordinated with licensed Egyptian bariatric surgeons — with the pre-operative workup and nutritional follow-up these procedures actually require.
What to expect
Eligibility is assessed against BMI and associated conditions. Requires pre-operative tests and nutritional follow-up.
Choice between sleeve and bypass is a clinical decision made by the bariatric surgeon, not a price decision.
Temporary and reversible. Typically removed after 6–12 months depending on the device.
The figures above are publicly published market data from Egyptian clinics and platforms — they are not a Hayakkom quote. Prices vary widely by technique, materials and surgeon experience. Your actual price is confirmed after clinical review.
All final medical decisions, including whether a procedure is appropriate for you, rest with the licensed treating physician. Hayakkom coordinates; it does not provide medical services and does not guarantee outcomes.
Procedures coordinated
- Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (تكميم المعدة)
- Gastric bypass and mini bypass / OAGB
- Gastric balloonnon-surgical and reversible
- SASI / loop bipartition
- Revision surgery after a previous bariatric procedure
Eligibility is a clinical decision, not a booking decision
Bariatric surgery is assessed against your BMI, associated conditions such as type 2 diabetes or hypertension, previous weight-loss attempts, and your general fitness for anaesthesia. Not everyone who wants surgery is a candidate, and the choice between sleeve and bypass is made by the surgeon on clinical grounds — never on price. Hayakkom does not assess eligibility; the treating surgeon does.
Risks you should know before you travel
These are real operations with real risks. Published complications include bleeding, staple-line leak, infection, long-term nutritional deficiencies requiring lifelong supplementation, and reflux. Roughly 10–20% of patients experience significant weight regain over time. Excess or loose skin after major weight loss is common and may need separate procedures. Long-term success depends heavily on sustained dietary and lifestyle change, not on the surgery alone.
What Hayakkom coordinates
- Surgeon and hospital selection
- Pre-operative investigations and anaesthetic clearance scheduling
- Hospital admission (typically 1–2 nights)
- Recovery-appropriate accommodation with suitable food options
- Airport and hospital transfers
- Arabic-speaking accompaniment
- Dietitian follow-up coordination
- Structured post-return follow-up with the surgical team
Realistic stay and recovery
Plan 7–10 days in Egypt: pre-operative tests, surgery, 1–2 hospital nights, then monitored recovery before you are cleared to fly. You will be on a staged diet — liquids, then puréed, then soft food over several weeks. You should not book a demanding travel itinerary around this procedure.
What we will not do
We will not arrange bariatric surgery for anyone the surgeon has not cleared, we will not quote a final price before clinical assessment, and we do not guarantee any amount of weight loss. Anyone promising a fixed kilogram outcome is not being straight with you.
