Prefer Upper Egypt? Early March is still comfortable in Luxor and Aswan, so a 4-night Nile cruise (indicative 1,650–4,400 SAR per person) can replace the beach week.
What to expect in Egypt in Ramadan and at Eid
- Daytime is quiet, evenings are busy. Many shops and cafés open late; museums and sites often keep shorter Ramadan hours, so we plan visits for the morning.
- Iftar and suhoor are big occasions. Hotels and Nile boats run iftar buffets; book a table for the family in advance.
- Eid is a public holiday in Egypt. Egyptian families head to the Red Sea and Alexandria, so resorts are full and lively, and prices sit at the top of the range.
- Eid prayer is held early in the morning in large mosques and open squares; your hotel can tell you the nearest one.

Treatment over the Eid break
Sixteen days is long enough for treatment with proper recovery: cosmetic surgery usually needs 7–14 days before the surgeon clears you to fly, and weight-loss surgery 7–10 days. Many patients prefer to have surgery after Eid rather than during Ramadan; the surgeon advises on fasting and timing. Book a video consultation in January so the plan is ready.
